Panama City Beach, Fla. (November 29, 2016) ­— The Onsite Property Management Association (OPMA) appointed a new Chairman of the Board last week at their Fall Executive Summit in Destin, Florida. Brent Howie, President of Provident Management Corporation, accepted the nomination as Chairman from Paul Wohlford, Vice President of Resort Collection and Past Chairman of OPMA.  

Howie expressed his enthusiasm about assuming his new role and responsibilities with OPMA. 

“I am honored to be the new Chairman of OPMA, a cutting edge association in one of the fastest growing and ever changing sectors of the hospitality industry.  Together with our very capable Board of Directors, my hopes are to continue the growth and development of the organization while further expanding its reach and value as the recognized leader of onsite professionally managed condominium accommodations.”

Provident Management Corporation is a privately held condo-hotel management and consulting company based in Clearwater, Florida. Initially established as a residential property management organization, under his leadership, Provident Management quickly evolved into a pioneer and innovator of the condo-hotel industry. Howie entered into the hotel management and condominium resort business in 1980 with the first conversion of a beachfront hotel into the condominium form of ownership on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Since converting this existing hotel into a Condo-Hotel, Provident became a leader in this very specialized industry.

Howie graduated from Florida Southern College with a degree in Accounting and is licensed by the State of Floridaas a Community Association Manager (CAM). He has spoken on the national stage and been featured on television cable networks showcasing condo-hotels, and has commented in numerous publications, including the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and the National Real Estate Investor.

Howie will spearhead OPMA’s mission of bringing onsite rental property managers and stakeholders together through education, networking and advocacy to optimize the condominium hotel hospitality experience.
