The lodging industry’s “can’t miss” executive event focused on future growth trends and top of mind topics and issues
PANAMA CITY BEACH, FLA. (March 17, 2015) – The Onsite Property Management Association (OPMA), which is focused on and advocates on behalf of onsite property management and the growing condo hotel sector, recently announced the official launch of it’s inaugural Executive Summit scheduled for May 11 – 12, 2015 at the Doubletree by Hilton Airport Hotel in Atlanta.
The OPMA Summit represents a lodging industry first…a unique event format that brings senior level executives and decision-makers together and allows for open dialogue and a free-flowing exchange of ideas and solutions between attendees. Those encouraged to attend include: onsite property management representatives, providers of goods and services to the condo hotel industry, and key speakers representing diverse but critically important hospitality industry entities. The OPMA Summit will focus on the future of the condo hotel lodging sector by creating joint objectives and strategies to support members and to enhance the continued growth and success of individual companies, providers, the OPMA, and the hospitality industry as a whole.
The speakers and topics for the Summit include:
Troy Flanagan, Vice President, State and Local Government Affairs, American Hotel & Lodging Association: “Industry Trends related to Short Term Rentals and the Future Impact on Local and State Governments”
Mindy Rehse, Senior Director, Global Partner Group at Expedia, Inc.: “Working and Growing Together in Partnership”
Dr. Steve Morse, PH.D., Economist and Director, Hospitality and Tourism, College of Business, Western Carolina U.: “Claiming your Industry Contributions and Identifying Local Economic Impacts of Your Destination’s Condo Hotel Lodging Sector”
Ronald Cacciatore, CFE, Director of Professional Standards and Compliance, Broward County Property Appraiser Office: “Identifying and Exploring Solutions to Collecting Taxes tied to Illegal Short Term Rentals”
According to OPMA President Paul Wohlford, the combination of bringing senior level industry executives and speakers together in a special venue that stimulates thought- provoking ideas and solutions, represents a ripe formula for growth and success. “At OPMA we’re not interested in rehashing history and past events that we cannot control. We are instead, focused on the future and how we can come together to support one another in a spirit of cooperation that benefits all concerned parties.”
